Driveshaft Yoke Does Not Fit the Output Shaft
A late-style output shaft will not fit when used in conjunction with an early-style driveshaft yoke. The reason being the Chrysler Corporation changed the outside diameter of the output shaft in the spline area, which increased the contact area of the yoke splines for improved durability. The yoke changed, as well, to accommodate the output shaft change.

OUTPUT SHAFT DIFFERENCES

Approximately .050” Difference

Early-Style Output Shaft
Diameter Approximately 1.290”
Late-Style Output Shaft
Diameter Approximately 1.340”

CORRECTION

During the remanufacturing process, the output shaft has been machined to fit both the early- and late-style driveshaft yoke, eliminating the need to purchase and install a late-style driveshaft yoke.
